EXCITING BENEFIT NEWS!
New: October 2, 2007

NABET 700 CEP is pleased to announce that there will be a three month OPEN ENROLMENT for the benefits program.

From October 1 to December 31, 2007 members can enrol in our benefits program without the $500 late entrant fee or medical evidence of insurability. Even if you have been previously denied benefits or have been subject to the three year waiting period, you can sign up during this three month period. This includes dependents that may have been previously denied coverage.

In order to enrol, you must clear up any back benefits balance and at time of enrolment, pay a minimum of the first full quarter of benefits.

We are able to offer this exciting opportunity due a number of measures we have taken in the last few years to get out benefits out of deficit and into a surplus position.

Please take advantage of this opportunity, if you do not already have benefits, to protect yourself and your family. Our benefits offer 80% health and dental coverage, life insurance, and short term disability at rates substantially under what you would pay in the open market.

Please note this is a limited time offer that will not be extended past December 31 and may not be offered again for many years.

Download an enrolment form. (pdf) For more information, please contact Katherine Doyle at the NABET 700 CEP office, extension 222.

Insurance Carrier Change
Added: October 17, 2007

We are switching back to Manulife Financial effective October 1, 2007. There has been no changes in your benefit coverage.

With the change of carrier it is an ideal time to re-assess your Beneficiary Designation. This would be the individual who would be entitled to your $25,000 life insurance policy and $25,000 Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance. Many members who filled out their enrolment forms years ago my have designated a beneficiarty who now, in 2007, would no longer be suitable. Members may use the change form received with teh package to update their beneficiary. Please contact Susan at Matheis Associates (905-837-2600 ext. 11) for information regarding your current beneficiary.

If you have outstanding claims incurred before October 1, you must submit them to Medavie Blue Cross before December 25.

If you have not received your package from Manulife please contact Katherine at the NABET 700 CEP office, extension 222.
