Rosie O’Donnell to guest star in Bomb Girls
November 5, 2012 - The Toronto Star
Rosie O’Donnell will appear as a guest star in a season two episode of Bomb Girls, currently filming in Toronto.
O’Donnell will play “Dottie” in Episode 209 of the Global series that follows the lives of five women during World War II who build bombs in a Toronto munitions factory.
A Daytime Emmy Award winner, she was host of The Rosie O’Donnell Show for six years, a moderator on ABC’s The View and hosted The RosieShow on the Oprah Winfrey Network.
“Bomb Girls revolves around an incredible time in our country’s history and the empowerment of women during World War II. We’re so excited to have Rosie O’Donnell help us tell the story,” said Barb Williams, senior vice-president content for Shaw Media.
The series’ second season is set in 1942 as the Allies’ munitions demands increase due to bombed-out factories abroad. Academy Award nominee Meg Tilly stars as shift matron Lorna Corbet.
Bomb Girls Season 1 airs Fridays at 9 p.m. on Global. Season 2 is expected to broadcast in early 2013.
