Saving Hope renewed for fourth season
November 10th, 2014 - The Toronto Star
Hope has been fulfilled for CTV’s medical drama Saving Hope.
The network announced Monday that it has ordered a fourth season of 18 episodes, to begin production in summer 2015 in Toronto.
“Amassing a loyal fan base from across the country during its three seasons to date, Saving Hope continues to play a strong and integral role in our No. 1 fall lineup,” Phil King, CTV president of sports and entertainment programming, said in a news release.
The series, which stars Erica Durance (Smallville), Michael Shanks (Stargate SG-1) and Daniel Gillies (The Originals), has been averaging 1.5 million viewers this season, CTV said.
Season 3 began with Dr. Alex Reid (Durance) fighting for her life after being stabbed in the heart and heated up the love triangle between her, Dr. Charlie Harris (Shanks) and Dr. Joel Goran (Gillies). Stacey Farber (Degrassi: The Next Generation) joined the cast as Dr. Sydney Katz.
The series moves to Wednesday nights beginning Nov. 26 at 10 p.m. with four new episodes culminating in what CTV calls “a must-watch cliffhanger” on Dec. 17 before Season 3 continues in January.
Saving Hope is produced by ICF Films and Entertainment One. It will also air on ION Television in the U.S. in 2015.
