Am sending out our weekly newsletter early this week, as I am heading out on vacation tomorrow, and will be back in the office on Monday, June 15th. Our next newsletter will be Friday June 19th.

As you know from our email yesterday, Bill 91 (the budget Bill), passed in the House yesterday. This Bill included our requested amendments to grandfather the rate changes for OPSTC and OCASE.

And, we were able to secure grandfathering for a little over double the usual timeline, to 7 months (to November 30, 2015) for all projects sufficiently advanced by April 23, 2015.

Congratulations to all of you - it could not have been done without careful work, connecting with Ontario MPPs, Premier Wynne, and her team.

We are hoping next for a statement of commitment to protect these new, current rates, going forwards, and are working with all three parties to achieve this goal.

We encourage you to reach out to your MPPs and Ministers Coteau, Duguid, Sousa, Matthews and Premier Wynne, with your thanks, and the importance of stability going forwards.

The OMDC has expressed a willingness to participate in a FilmOntario session to review the OPSTC and OCASE changes which will impact any new projects since April 23, 2015. Please email me at sarah@filmontario.ca if this would be of interest.
