Federal Government Announces Creative Canada Strategy
On September 28, The Honourable Mélanie Joly announced the long-awaited results of the government’s policy consultation in the creative industries. There has been considerable media coverage of the announcement, which included a $500 million production spend commitment from Netflix on content produced in Canada as well as a new Creative Export strategy that will spend $125 million (across all industries) over the next five years.
There are still many questions about the new policy, but if you would like to read the whole document, as well as a copy of the Minister’s speech, you can find them here.
