September 25 FilmOntario Update

Update - September 25, 2017

Congratulations to the Emmy-Winning Handmaid’s Tale Congratulations to Co-Executive Producers John Weber and Frank Siracusa and all FilmOntario members who worked on The Handmaid’s Tale, which took home a total of eight Emmy Awards over the last couple of weeks, including Outstanding Drama Series.

With all production and post-production for the series taking place in Ontario, this is a true success story for the province, made possible by all the hardworking individuals who make up our industry. Way to go!

City of Toronto Film Sector Development Officer
The City of Toronto has announced that Michele Alosinac, the current Film Sector Development Officer, will be leaving the City in early October. FilmOntario would like to thank Michele for everything she has done to support and promote the industry over the past three years, and we wish her the best of luck in her future adventures.

The job posting for the position has been posted on the City of Toronto website.

OMDC Call for Applications: Business Intelligence Program
The OMDC has announced a deadline of October 31, 2017, for applications to its Business Intelligence Program (which replaces the Research Grant Program). Financial support is available for industry organizations engaging in Business Intelligence activities. Business Intelligence is defined as information or insights that industries require in order to enhance their capacity and competitiveness.
