Update on ROEs When Applying for EI - March 24, 2020
Dear Members,As a reminder for those applying for Employment Insurance (EI), you can apply for benefits even if you have not yet received your Record of Employment (ROE).
We have been in contact with the 2 commonly used entertainment payroll companies who have informed us that all ROEs are directly uploaded to Service Canada. They do not issue physical ROEs to individuals. Additionally, they have notified us that all 2019 ROEs have been sent to Service Canada and for current productions, all ROEs were generated at the end of last week (March 20) and the majority have been processed and uploaded to the Service Canada website where you can log on to view your copy.
Please check your My Service Canada Account and click "My Records of Employment" to first ensure if your ROE has been uploaded. If you do not see it in your account you can contact the payroll companies listed on your pay stubs or at the following:
- Cast & Crew: 416-406-2768
toronto_payroll@CastandCrew.com
- Entertainment Partners (EP): 416-923-9255
torontopayrollpayeerequests@epcanada.com
Ensure you include the following details when contacting them:
- Your full name
- Last three digits of your SIN
- Information on what production you are requesting
We realise that many members may have applied for EI benefits prior to this pandemic. Should any information regarding extending your current EI claim or applying for consecutive EI claims be made available we will notify the membership.
Thank you
