COVID 19 - Important Office Updates - March 30, 2020

Please see the following important office updates. 

OFFICE CLOSURE 

We will be extending our office closure, with the intent to return Monday, April 20, 2020. The office staff will continue to work remotely from home until then and will continue to monitor their emails and voice messages.

DUES AND BENEFITS PAYMENTS 

The Executive Board agreed to provide every member with a dues amnesty of $150. Members who have not yet paid their 1st quarter dues (January – March) will have the $150 automatically applied to their outstanding balance. Those who have paid their 1st quarter dues will have the $150 automatically applied to their 2nd quarter dues (April – June) payment.

Members who are up-to-date and have already paid the full year of dues can apply the $150 dues amnesty to the next dues quarter you'll owe. 

The Executive Board has also extended the 1st quarter Benefits payments for a full quarter, (90 days). If you are currently behind on your 1st quarter Benefits payment with the deadline of March 30, 2020, it will now be extended to June 29, 2020. 

Please note that the dues amnesty cannot be applied to your benefits balance. Further, we will not be processing Dues and/or Benefits payments until the office re-opens.

INDUSTRIAL ALLIANCE BENEFITS

Members who are enrolled in the Industrial Alliance Group Health Plan with questions regarding the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on your travel insurance, medical, drug and disability coverage, please consult  IA – Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ). This information will be updated regularly by Industrial Alliance and is accessible from the ia.ca home page.

DUES TAX RECEIPTS

Dues tax receipts were mailed out at the end of February, 2020. If you did not receive your dues tax receipt and require another copy, please email Nicole Matthews, Membership Services Coordinator, at nicole@nabet700.com or leave a voice message at 416-536-4827 ext. 224. The requested tax receipt will then be emailed to you as hard copies will not be mailed out during this time.

RRSP TAX SLIPS

Manulife mailed out RRSP tax slips at the beginning of March, 2020. You can access the digital version of your RRSP tax slip on your Manulife Online Account. Instructions for registering for your online account can be found below. 

To register online you will require your Manulife Customer Number. Your customer number is the 9-digit number starting with a 1 that is available on your Manulife statement. If you do not have a Manulife statement and do not know your customer number, please contact Mary-Anne Rogers at Matheis Financial Group, 905-837-2600. 

Hard copies of duplicate tax slips will be issued by Manulife Financial. Please note that there is a $25 charge for duplicate receipts. 

To request a duplicate hard copy of your tax slip contact Manulife direct at 1-888-727-7766 and provide your group policy #57161002 and your certificate number (SIN).

We wanted to remind you that the AFC provides financial and other compassionate support to those who work in the Canadian entertainment industry when an unforeseen emergency, such as this pandemic, causes urgent financial need. They offer confidential, short-term, charitable assistance with basic living and medical needs that cannot be otherwise met as well as other social services.
