COVID-19 Provincial Shutdown Update - January 12, 2021
As you are now undoubtedly aware, Premier Doug Ford announced this afternoon a return to a State of Emergency for the Province of Ontario effective immediately. It was also announced that effective Thursday January 14, 2021, there will be “stay at home order” in place encouraging only essential trips outside of the household in an effort to curb the spread of COVID-19, along with other corresponding measures.Notwithstanding these additional measures announced today, we are happy to announce that film and television production will continue to operate during this time with no change from those restrictions that came into effect on December 26, 2020.
A full copy of the Province’s announcement can be found HERE. Page 26 outlines the allowance for the “Media Industries” to be able to continue.
We would like to take the opportunity to remind everyone to be vigilant with PPE use, sanitization, distancing and compliance with production's COVID policies and procedures as well as these newly announced measures.
Please note that the Union will will be sending a follow-up email in the next few days with respect to the office operations.
If you have any questions, please contact Jayson Mosek, or your President, Peggy Kyriakidou, at the NABET 700-M UNIFOR office.
Thank you.
