As per the collective agreement, Appendix L, the role of the on set Women’s Representative is as follows:

a. The Women’s Representative is a specifically trained representative who assists women with concerns such as workplace violence and harassment. This individual acts in adherence with company policies and procedures, and provides support for women seeking workplace and community resources, but is not a counsellor. The Women’s Representative may also assist others dealing with similar issues.

Those who are interested in being an on set Women’s Representative are required to complete this course before they can assume the role. Any person who identifies as a woman or has a gender identity other than cis* man may fill the role.

*Cis-gender: denoting or relating to a person whose sense of personal identity and gender corresponds with their birth sex.

This training will cover the law surrounding workplace harassment and provide an in-depth review of the roles and responsibilities of the on set Women’s Representative in order to equip you with the skills and abilities to complete intake regarding workplace harassment complaints.

Any Members who have previously completed this training are also welcome to attend if they would like a refresher.

If you are interested in taking this course to be an on set Women’s Representative, you must register in advance by clicking on the RSVP link provided below and complete the required fields. After registering, you will receive an email confirmation with the Zoom link, Meeting ID, and Password.

The office will follow up with those who have registered closer to the scheduled training date regarding preparation for the virtual session as course materials will need to be sent digitally.
