A telepathic paramedic and a comatose doctor will both see their television series renewed, CTV announced Wednesday.
The Listener has been picked up for a 13-episode fourth season, while new summer series Saving Hope also earned a 13-episode order.
“With new season orders of veteran hit The Listener and the summer’s breakout hit Saving Hope, both currently on air, we are committed to continuing to build on the strength of these fan favourite shows,” said Phil King, President, CTV Programming and Sports, in a release.
The network says The Listener has been pulling in a summer audience average of 1.14 million viewers, a 14 per cent improvement over the previous season, while Saving Hope has a season-to-date average of 1.6 million viewers. Saving Hope is also airing this summer in the U.S. on NBC.
The third season of The Listener has featured Toby Logan, played by Craig Olejnik, stepping away from his EMS duties to work more closely with the Integrated Investigative Bureau (IIB), a special ops unit.
Saving Hope follows Dr. Charlie Harris, played by Stargate SG1’s Michael Shanks as he explores the halls of Toronto’s Hope-Zion Hospital in spirit form after a car accident leaves him in a coma.
